The sad thing is that the Celeron is 120 percent NOT the bottleneck. Not when 10 year old laptop CPUs browse 98 percent of the web with integrated graphics as well as modern CPUs do. This is not a hardware limitation because that's basically impossible. Every spec on there is more than enough to avoid giving the bad experience that you are getting, and that makes it all the less acceptable that this is a final consumer unit.

Not what I wanted to hear, but it is what it is. Thanks for the straight forward and honest reviews. Google, step up your game... take care of your customers and everything else will follow through... take some notes from Apple regarding hardware...don't provide half backed garbage to support a platform with so much potential. By screwing your customers, you're screwing yourself (Google).

my $200 Acer Chromebook which literally has the same internals as the base model Google Slate doesn't lag that much, Google kinda was lazy this year, to be honest.

Honest question: Why not buy the version with a closer price to the iPad pro and compare them?

People drag Apple for charging more money and never having an affordable option. This is why. People would 10/10 rather spend a premium and get a pleasant to use product than save a few bucks and get crap

Really think this needs a redo bubs...with at least the core m3. WE ALL KNEW the Celeron would be crap (Google shouldn't have released that one at all, should have started with the m3).

"Is this what you really wanted?" :D but IMHO though that ram is not enough. And you are right I think it's also just the software side because that seems like a slowdown from either a memory leak from an app or it's just not doing memory handling that good. I blame OS optimization. And It's not about the processor. An Intel Celeron would do just fine. It's like getting a desktop/laptop processor and jamming it in a tablet. Its performance is comparable to the desktop/laptop stuffs. IMO an Intel Atom would've been a better choice if they're marketing it as a tablet but they're doing this hybrid thing so yeah a Celeron is enough. Low power consumption than a full desktop/laptop processor so it gives off more battery life.
